“Killin it’! You’re killin’ it!” Whenever I hear people say this to one another I GET what they mean but think it’s another problem with our society’s glorification of terms like “hustle” or “grind”. If you’ve taken time to breathe today, said a kind word to yourself or someone else, or maybe just enjoyed a quiet night watching Netflix, I’d say you are “killin’ it” because you’re reminding yourself to do what your mind and body need. I’ll keep on saying that as much as these little platforms can build connections and create community, at the end of the day the only thing that matters is we can create a little space to breathe and be human for a minute. I’m currently NOT KILLIN’ IT in my perspective because I haven’t slept, breathed, or remembered to take a moment. So I’m going to work on that. Welp. Haven’t worn makeup for a couple weeks and just spent two hours in the hot tub with my mom talking about her job working in Assisted Living and let me just say my mom’s home in Northern MN is open to anyone and everyone that needs a break and a meditative space for their busy brain! I actually really mean it and so does she. She might even give you some really good ideas from a much different perspective. Check my stories to see the peaceful scenery!
